Compensation for disadvantages with the help of art education – A methodology conference organised by the MOME Design and Visual Arts Teacher programme

The MOME Art and Design Teacher training community invites everyone to a methodology conference to think together about the possibilities of art or art-based education in the comprehensive unlocking of individual skills and compensating for disadvantages.

The conference will open with a presentation titled Artists at school: learning skills development in children with social disadvantages by head of the Creative Partnership Hungary Szilvia Németh.

Next, Anita Takár will share her experience delivering complex art education to children with multiple disabilities since 2001 at the Csillagház Elementary School and Special Education Methodology Institute (current base institute) in the 3rd district, followed by teacher of the Gusztáv Bárczi Faculty of Special Education, ELTE Kata Sándor’s lecture entitled Helping adult and senior persons with disabilities through education through art.

The morning presentations will conclude with a roundtable discussion with the speakers led by head of the Real Pearl Foundation Nóra L. Ritók.

After the lunch break, the focus will be on programmes for compensating for disadvantages, which is also a rallying point for MOME students. The accomplishments of the Let’s Teach for Hungary programme will also be presented along with the Tomorrow belongs to you – For the creative talents of the future programme.

The conference will conclude with a debate theatre entitled Who does education through art help and how? led by the Roundtable Theatre Education Centre.

Participation in the conference is free of charge, but requires prior registration at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdhaW1xgpuJia8gJOjxmlO8-OWsCYAsU8vbY7Ja0ES-l8kb_g/viewform?fbclid=IwAR067V3Td76sjSrwGZkPQzPu6eoJAR2vd9xmN5ph1iMHB1avFj6tR3G7h8Q
