DOCTORAL AGORA - FROM LAND TO FILM 2

From Paint to Light, a selection published posthumously by Kriterion in 1979, offered a synthesis of László Moholy-Nagy’s reflections on art, creation, and media. It explored challenges to the relevance of artistic activity, in particular the media of art that has the potential to shape the present and the future. Most researchers at the Doctoral School of the university bearing Moholy-Nagy’s name perceive contemporary cultural and artistic challenges on a spectrum between two poles: (arable) land, biota and physiological processes versus engineered and mechanised communication.

Picking up the thread of the previous Agora, the spring 2023 event of the MOME Doctoral Agora includes talks organised around these two poles.
