Urbanlab - Urban Upcycling meetup

Urbanlab’s first event, Urban Upcycling Meetup, will take place on 12 May.

One of the buzzwords of the event is reinvention, making cities more liveable from an environmental, economic and urbanistic point of view. The focus is on the phenomenon of vacant buildings, chiefly from an upcycling perspective. Participants will include Budapest’s chief architect Zoltán ErÅ‘, Deputy State Secretary for the Development of Budapest Dr. Domonkos Schneller, and head of the design team of DMV Group Ida Kiss.

What is urban upcycling? How can you increase the value of a seemingly worthless location? How can reinvention promote a greener focus for cities? How can these renovations become profitable? How can the transformed buildings become scenes revitalising local community life? These and other questions will be addressed at the meetup.

Date and time: 12 May, at 10:00 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Venue: MOME BASE - Glass Room

We look forward to seeing you at Urbanlab’s first event, Urban Upcycling Meetup.

What could it be like to push boundaries and still end up inside a glass box? What kind of questions are shaping the minds of today’s designers? Where do personal identity, cultural heritage, and digital life intersect? Where does a garment end, and where does the story behind it begin?
