Performing Privacy is an exploration of different typologies of images to understand the representation of the female body.
It looks at how representation intersects with issues of power, agency, and identity in a culture of extimacy, where individuals put forward their intimate life for public consumption.
From the appropriation of the nude self-portrait in social media to the complex relationships between sex work, performance, and the male gaze, and to the aesthetics and representation of eroticism, Isoard would like to start a discussion about how photography and gaze shape our understanding of the representation of femininity.
