The Spinny is a complex development tool that helps children's neuro- and motor development through play. To operate the sharpener, two hands are needed to perform a movement similar to that of moving a bicycle pedal, which improves motor coordination, gross motor skills, cognitive skills and bilateral coordination, i.e. the cooperation between the two brain hemispheres. The latter has a major role to play in preventing attention deficit disorders, behavioural problems and difficulties with verbal reasoning. When the device is used by two children, they also develop cooperative skills important for doing well in school.
