Magyar Modern I Ungarische Kunst in Berlin 1910-1933
An exhibition opened in Berlin under the curatorship of teacher of MOME’s Institute for Theoretical Studies and head of the Design Theory MA András Zwickl.
The exhibition features about 200 artworks, including paintings, sculptures, graphics, photos, architectural designs and films, showcasing the creative activity of Hungarian artists living in Berlin in the period between 1910 and 1933, such as Lajos Kassák, László Moholy-Nagy, and Marcell Breuer, and illustrates their significance in Hungarian art history and in the history of Berlin fine art.
From 4 November, an exhibition featuring works by Hungarian artists living and working in Berlin in the early 20th century is held at the Berlinische Galerie, one of Berlin’s most important modern art museum. Its co-curator András Zwickl, a teacher of the Institute for Theoretical Studies, is also the art historian of the Museum of Fine Arts – Hungarian National Gallery. This is the first exhibition to present the artists living in Berlin for longer or shorter periods between 1910 and 1933 and their works created or displayed here.
