MOME Fashion Show Exhibition

As a complementary event to the MOME Fashion Show, already regarded as a tradition, this exhibition features student projects not specifically intended for the catwalk. They reinterpret personal and collective identity through the lens of fashion, textile, and costume design, while addressing profound social and cultural issues.

Sustainability plays a prominent role throughout, with students exploring alternatives to the fashion industry’s unsustainable practices by using recyclable, recycled, and biodegradable materials, alongside eco-friendly production methods.

The theme for this year’s BA collections is “Message Recorder”, while the MA projects ranging from costume designs and carpets to adaptive bag collections and various installations emphasise inclusivity, functionality, and customisation. The exhibition also presents a digital installation using augmented reality and an ecological material experiment focused on yarns, as well as Zsófia Kormos’s doctoral masterwork, Artemis, a smart garment designed to reduce menstrual pain.
