The Inspiring Design Theory (IDE) evening is back!

The first event of this spring’s series will bring us closer to the various manifestations of the life reform movements, which focused on improving quality of life through critical movements, mindsets, and theories.
These aren’t related to modern-day self-improvement, but instead advocate for people to achieve a better quality of life – both individually and collectively – through conscious decisions and reconsidering their relationship with the environment. The three fascinating talks will cover topics including the Gödöllő artist colony, the strategies of the Situationist Internationale (a progressive art group), and ageism, the societal narrative surrounding aging. The talks will be followed by a DJ set.

„Global society has not yet understood the distinction between physical expansion and qualitative development. It has passed the stage where more physical expansion is desirable. No widely-shared global goal is now served by having more people or material goods. Now it is important to learn how to advance the development of our species - achieving equity, peace, psychological balance, physical health, environmental quality.” (Dennis Meadows, co-author of Limits to Growth)
