The next episode of our Q&Alumni series has arrived! – This time, we sat down with Anna Rubi, MOME Media Design alumna.
Anna is one of Hungary’s leading media artists, whose outstanding work has earned her numerous recognitions throughout her career – including the MOME Best of Media Design Award this June, granted by the department in acknowledgement of her exceptional artistic achievements.
In our conversation, she shared her experiences from her university years, reflected on what MOME has given her, and talked about her award-winning documentary ‘Life Without You’. Anna also discussed why she considers creative block to be a kind of “luxury.”
In the newest instalment of our Q&Alumni series, you can get to know Boldizsár Mátyás and Mátyás Czél, media designers who are working in Budapest with their own design studios. They both graduated from MOME and after several successful collaborations, they founded POV Budapest, the first international design and visual arts conference in Hungary.
Now the conference is much bigger and more ambitious, and Boldi and Matyi are both running their own design studios.
They talked to us about their time at MOME, the beggining of their partnership and also what the future entails.

At the Best of MOME ‘23, this year’s top MA diploma projects from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design made their debut on 14 October at the Kastner Kommunity. The event highlighted the questions and issues that occupy the minds of the youngest generation of designers and the various design responses to them.
Several MOME intermedia and art theory projects were among the winners of the Art and Art Theory Section of the National Scientific Students' Associations Conference.
Anna Rósz’s portfolio gives us a glimpse into her personal virtual space through three-dimensional modelling. She often explores the role of femininity and motherhood, as well as issues of intimacy and sexuality. Her graphic designs feature dream-like spaces and phantom-like, reflective figures as imprints of various emotional states.
