Budapest is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its unification in 2023. On this occasion, the Graphic Design BA programme of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and its Illustration specialisation invited students of the German Hochschule Anhalt and the Czech UMPRUM design universities to work together on creating stunning touristic posters.

As part of these, Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design once again presents a selection of diploma projects by freshly graduated MA students, this time downtown, off the University Campus.

“We are living in a time when recognition appears to be more important than anything else. More and more people are becoming known for unknown reasons. Andy Warhol's statement about 15 minutes of fame is taken to the extreme. The world of design has caught the Kardashian virus too. We, including myself, are being caught between recognition and purpose. Unfortunately, more and more often, recognition becomes a purpose in and of itself. The lecture is about my attempt to do the opposite: to use my recognition for a purpose.”

The MOME Gond-űző will be home to an exhibition that is in fact a photography experiment demonstrating how the photographers, each with a different personality and style, perceive the same spaces carrying shadows of the past and at the same time, the promise of the future.

The Friss Kakas Animation Film Days are organized by the Friss Hús Budapest International Short Film Festival and the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Anim team at the Toldi cinema in Budapest. After last year's renewal, the festival returns again this year on October 6 and 7.

An exhibition featuring the diploma projects of our MA students graduating in 2023 will be available between 17 and 18 June at the MOME Campus. We look forward to seeing you there.

The exhibition LIKE YOU AND ME – YOUNG HUNGARIAN PHOTOGRAPHY opened in Mai Manó Ház, featuring 70 milestone works by thirty one young artists. The exhibition highlights themes and technical experiments from contemporary Hungarian photography, along with characteristics and overlaps of the genre.
