MA Open Day x Alumni Career Day 2024
Join us for MOME's first MA Open Day x Alumni Career Day, a unique event designed for those interested in our Master's programmes, to gain valuable insights university life, explore our MA offerings, and learn about the successful career paths of our alumni. This full-day bilingual event includes career support lectures and workshops, guided campus tours, admissions briefings, and presentations on relevant programmes for current BA students, external visitors, and alumni, with some sessions available online to ensure accessibility for all.
Participation in the MA Open Day x Alumni Career Day events is free, but prior registration is required.
The exact details of the events will be sent via email by 21 November after registration.

Experience the unique pop-up exhibition showcasing furniture designed by MOME students inspired by the works of architect and designer Sándor Borz Kováts. Created in partnership with the Museum of Applied Arts, the exhibition will be opened by Head of the Contemporary Design Collection Department Dr. Judit Horváth.
Sándor Borz Kováts was an architect, designer, and former student and lecturer at MOME’s predecessor. The exhibition will feature lamps reflecting on his iconic lamps, tubular frame furniture with castor wheels, and armchairs, such as Márton Takács’s enso, Márton Hunyadi’s Bolygó, and Veronika Antal’s Claret, armchair designs including Bernadett Garai’s Zip, Levente Buzás’s BO!, and Kinga Zsanett Székely’s Ribbon, along with Brindzik József’s Chair seating furniture, Lilla Erika Sárközi’s R71 floor lamp and Sára Fruzsina Nagy’s Flasko storage unit.

This is the central question of the roundtable discussion hosted by a special edition of FormaNorma, the popular event series of the Product Design BA and Design MA programmes, featuring exemplary alumni such as Annabella Hevesi, András Húnfalvi, Marcell Nagy, and Ádám Tóth, moderated by the head of the BA programme, Dorottya Féja.

Learn about the career paths of mentors from the MOME Alumni Mentor Programme and the challenges they faced transitioning from university to the professional world. This career-focused programme has been launched for three programmes to provide current students with mentoring support from alumni. The roundtable discussion will feature Edina Bugár (Art and Design Management alumna), Kinga Hamvai (Art and Design Management alumna) and Dorottya Melis-Seenger (Architecture alumna) with moderation by head of the Student Hub Tekla Bodnár.

Even if you’re short on time, are you determined to create a compelling presentation because you know your message matters, but you’re just not sure where to start? This session blends the worlds of scriptwriting, storytelling, and business, revealing what Little Red Riding Hood and your next presentation have in common, while guiding you through 10 actionable steps to achieve impressive results quickly and effectively. By the end, we hope you’ll see, as we do, that presenting and communication are applied arts – skills that, with the right tips, tricks, and techniques, are not only easy to master but genuinely enjoyable.

During this workshop people can learn about the power of mushrooms and what they are capable of. Participants can form their own mushroom and plant based bowl and later on they can follow its growth process. It is a great way to get introduced to fungi based materials, and just a few days later they will have their own mushroom ornament.

The Get your first design patent! lecture will provide an introduction to design patenting along with practical guidance on the patent filing process. You will leave the lecture with practical knowledge that will help you create and file a real design protection application for your works at the Secure Your First Design Protection II follow-up event on November 29, 2024.
